I have mixed feelings about Near. As a character he just has a cold attitude and is just too serious for someone who's just a kid. Yet he's arguably one of the smartest kids in any animated series, (anime or otherwise) and managed to succeed where L failed.
Also, you gotta love his dice towers, reminds me of when I made domino pyramids when I was in high school.
