Description
"White his shroud as the mountain snowLarded with sweet flowers
Which bewept to the grave did not go
With true-love showers."
Hamlet: Act 4, Scene 5
The Sweet Rose of May: Ophelia
2nd portrait after Lady MacBeth's
I don't have time to finish it, I'll probably get back to it later. I think I'll put it on the reverse side to show her drowning...I'll figure out
EDIT : a few hours work to finish it, but I just couldn't let it down
Close-up
I went to see Hamlet on Saturday evening at the theatre. It felt like a dream at the beggining, but then, I got a little bit bored, for there was no intermission in 3 hours. I think I needed that, for it became stiffling at some point.
Anyway, I keep a great memory of it.

There's rosemary, that's for remembrance. Pray you, love, remember. And there is pansies, that's for thoughts. There's fennel for you, and columbines. There's rue for you, and here's some for me; we may call it herb of grace o' Sundays. O, you must wear your rue with a difference. There's a daisy. I would give you some violets, but they withered all when my father died...

This one, along with your Lady Macbeth, are both haunting and beautiful. I dearly love Shakespearean text, and seeing these characters brought to life in your art makes me smile. Thank you.

Why does the title of the deviation and the quotation look so familiar to me? I've never read Hamlet, and I feel like it's part of a song or quoted in some movie. Hmm...
This is gorgeous. I love the flow of her hair. So beautiful!

A truly beautiful piece, it's a perfect rendition of Ophelia. Her expression is really vivid, and the details are great. Not to mention the colour combination. A really great work!
(The play was really good, except, as you said, for the 3 hours without intermission... and I freaked out at the play's last scene being cut. I was looking forward to see Fortinbras...)

Superbe !
