You have created a very textured look to this - almost looks like a collage from material and knitted pieces to create the bird itself. In fact if the background had been done in the same style I would have thought that this is what you did until I saw the actual description of materials. You must have done it on a very grainy paper? I would love to see another picture similar but with the whole picture looking like it was created from knitting or material. Anyhow I do like the effect, most unusual.

It´s the same paper as the Green Heron is drawn on . Maybe just a different style of photography so that´s why it looks grainy.
Thanks for the Shelley

Perhaps because it came out closer. I do like the effect of a grainy paper. I tried a pastel drawing yesterday - a landscape. Paper was a bit grainy on that too though only a bit. Well it was okay - I haven't drawn for years and I sort of enjoyed the colours but I couldn't say I was thrilled with it! I just had this fancy to draw. Maybe the urge will come again and maybe not!

According to my dictionary a grouse has feathered feet a pheasant doesn´t. I didn´t know this either but they are definitely two different species.
Thanks a lot Beth
