Stonekit stretched out his forelegs with a yawn, he wriggled out of his mother's nest, careful to slip around the other queens to look outside, the morning sun wasn't even fully up and already the camp was buzzing with activity, at two moons old, it was still a wonder to watch. He sat down in the entrance watching the warriors call out to one another and leave the camp when he heard rustling from the more scluded part of the clearing. He was watching Wolfkit and Littlekit tussel playfully with one another, rolling around the rich, dark soil, the earth hardly sticking to their pale coated pelts. Stonekit mrrowed a laugh and Wolfkit, much larger of the two, held Littlekit back with one paw as the smaller kit tried to reach him with flailing paws.
"Come on Littlekit! You can beat him!" a voice behind Stonekit made him turn around to see another tabby kit behind him, Firekit. He'd been in the nursery since before Stonekit was born but he'd been sick and Stonekit had rarely seen him outside the den until today. The tabby flicked him with his tail. "Let's go watch!" Firekit scampered out of the nursery and Stonekit followed excitedly watching the older kits wrestle some more. After a while Wolfkit padded off a short distance and flopped down with a yawn. Littlekit padded over wiggling his tiny tail triumphantly. "Look who's out of the nest!" Littlekit mrrowed at Firekit and gave him a playful cuff over the ears. Firekit grinned and Stonekit looked up at him in suprise, "I can't belive you won! Wolfkit's so much bigger!" he mewed, though Wolfkit WAS bigger he was still Littlekit's little brother, like Firestorm. "Just 'cause he's bigger dosn't mean he'll win." Littlekit mewed with a broad grin. "Platfighting looks like fun!" Firekit waved his haunches in a play position.
"It IS fun." Littlekit mrrowed then glanced sneakily over his shoulder at Wolfkit's exposed back. "You know what would be really fun?" he whispered slyly to Firekit and Stonekit who pricked their ears eagerly. "What? What?"
Littlekit's eyes flashed mischeviously. "If you two tackled him from behind you could win too!" he whispered.
"Tackle Wolfkit? What if he smushes us?" Stonekit's eyes were wide with uncertainty but Firekit was bouncing up and down. "Oh boy! Sounds fun! Can we? Will you help us??" he asked, eyes shining.
"Er, I'm still a little tuckered out from the play but I watch you." he mewed and slunk to the side of the clearing playfull to watch the scne unfold.
"Let's go!" Firekit hissed to Stonekit and nudged him foreward. "Ok." Stonekit answered still a little unsure... thoguh it did sound like fuuuun. The two young toms crept up behind Wolfkit and waggled their haunches before spring but Wolfkit rolled lazily out of the way causing the two to land on top of eachother where he'd been a heartbeat before. Firekit and Stonekit detangled themselves and sat up in suprise.
"I could hear you, oh stealthy ones." Wolfkit's mew was deep for a kit but his green eyes gleamed good naturedly. "You weren't supposed to move!" Firekit protested and batted his shoulder in mock annoyance.
Wolfkit butted him gently with his head. "Then don't be so noisy and I won't hear y---WHA?" Littlekit pounced from behind and plowed Wolfkit into the ground. "Victory for Littlestar! Good work distracting him you two!" he grinned down and Wolfkit rolled over knocking him off. "Get off you lump!" he growled playfully as Firekit laughed while Stonekit smiled and shook the dust out of his fur. It was going to be a fun day.
