Final Fantasy 9. Haven't seen you for a while! With all the hype over FF7, I think people aren't paying enough attention to one of the best of PSX, Final Fantasy 9. I have my wonders why this game is not nearly as hyped as FF7. The characters all have creative designs and many varying styles are packed in the game. In addition, there's ALOT of airships in the game (as oppose to only the highwind in FF7). I guess what I'm saying is, FF9 is a legend just like FF7, so why not the same hype? hm..This piece took forever! The background totally killed me @_@; Many sleepless nights of hard work was put into this one. Mmm, Garnet and Zidane, how I miss you both. Don't you? :3

I'm halfway done the game right now! First time playing, and I totally agree with you, it's a stunning game! Shame there isn't much fanart for it, but this is beautiful, great work

It was released somewhat late in the PS1's life.... that might have something to do with it.

I'm not especially a big fan of final fantasy (never finished any of the few I tried) but the 9th was nice ^^

do u have a PSP? Β :3 I loaded up in my PSP recently and it look GORGEOUS in that small screen! Β gonna take a LONG time and alot of patience to finish though -_- remember it was 4 discs long back in the PS1 days.

hah, even without the long 4disc storyline, i remember spending days just playing the built in card game. Β I would collect cards, buy cards with Gil and battle with the kids around the cities and towns~

I am more on point'n'click games (my favorite kind of games ^^) these days as they have recovered some popularity and lots of new one are released
I've just finished the Deponia trilogy and I'm currently playing at Broken Age

oh wow, just checked out Deponia.. the genre has really really grown!! D: The graphics... the voices... even the system... it's amazing!! Last one I checked out was Monkey's Island, and that was a looong while ago.
I've just been replaying FFX and X2 because I bought the HD-remaster edition

Monkey Island ! <3 I suggest you to look at the special edition released a few years ago if you like those games, they completely updated the graphics and added voices for the 1st and 2nd and it's really nice ^^

Well it's a classic RPG, nothing really special about it, but I like it.
You can choose between lots of jobs for your characters and that's quite nice.

Whoa, this is beautifully draw and coloured! I really love those specks and splatters of dirt/dush going across the picture, they are a really nice touch c:
I really also like the emotion in the character's face, plus there is a somewhat serene sadness to this picture, and the amazing composition really adds to it. There is very little I can fault here (if at all).

I concur, FF7 was overhyped, and FF9 was a good game that fell victim to bad marketing decisions. FF9 saw the most number of songs written for it, with extensive research to get the medieval theme right. The amount of amazing detail and potential for side stories and expansions is almost infinite.

Your hard work really comes out in that background, the cityscape obscured by dust and debris looks great. What I keep going back to is the bird to the right: you nailed it. The inward folding wings would have bested me.
