Description
This Agave parryi var. huachucensis was crowding out the plants around it in a patch in my front yard. So, I dug it up, put a couple of pups in containers, and set aside the main head on a pile of bricks. I intended to give the main head away but could not find any takers. For the last 30 years, it has sat on that pile of bricks with no water, no food, no soil ... no attention at all. And it thrived! It is twice the size it was, when I put it there. It has several pups and is as close to a perfect specimen as possible. The plant itself is the only thing more amazing than its story.
