Wooh! Another thesis piece! *flails* ~(>w<)~I hope this isn't too dark on some monitors... might be though, since I love doing dark pieces sometimes. <:3
Anyways, here is Elle again... Since she's not entirely human she gets along well with nonhuman things... MONSTERS! They live in this lil thesis world. Yup yup.
A lot of the PLOTZ revolves around these critters and the relationships she builds with them, but I'll save that for later.

Hm, I did this painting a long time ago so I don't quite remember- I think my range back in college was 8-12 hours. This one looks more simple than others though, so I'm not sure.Β

There is something weirdly graceful about the creatures that surrounnd her, and I love how you made their eyes glow with curiosity (or just luminescent irises, in some cases).

I don't know if it was on purpose but this really reads as a sister piece to Cruciforest, not only in composition and design, but in the opposite palettes. It's also creepy because the other man, in my view, is surrounded by "comfort objects", the saints, the religious icons, but they're all cold and quiet and without real affection, only important because of a feeling of faith.
While the girl out in the forest is surrounded by living breathing creatures and despite being eerie and not as seemingly comforting, I guess they are? Hahaha, I don't know, maybe I'm reading too much into it but I enjoy both piece a lot, especially together.
