Very comical, and I really can see the characters interact this way. Knowing L is quite a sarcastic man and enjoys feeling capable of humiliating someone by simply using twisted words. Which ultimately makes you second guess yourself regarding if he was trying to be mocking, or if his intentions are sincere. But you know it is a mind game.

I appreciate your response. Indeed, his death was mournful for some. However, I rejoice in the fact the creators decided to have him meet this fate because it reflects his significance as a character who, to many, was very real in their imaginations to have felt emotions in his end. It honors the dignity of L because the writer knew his greatness could only be felt when the observer feels that he/she has lost something that created interesting thought webs for them. It proves he was a character worth desiring more from, because he was able to inspire many people to think more complexly in situations.

Very true. I'm one of his mourners, never realizing how significant he was to the story till Ohba decided to do away with him. It's never been the same since.
