I fixed it! Turns out my sister had this puzzle that you put animals in the animal slots, and when you do, it makes noise. The noise is triggered by lack of light, so when I turn mine off, it triggers the puzzle. I got kind of lucky it was the cat actually... others include a rooster and a pig.
