Description
When Obsidian was first created, Homeworld had been mass producing Obsidians because a good portion were able to use GeoKinesis. However, since they bred them so much, the amount of Obsidians that could use Geokinesis dwindled until only a few remained. Generally the ability was "bred" out of them and got watered down. So they stopped mass producing them. The few Obsidians left that could use Geokinesis were put into a separate facet. This facet worked under each of the diamonds. They were passed around to whichever diamond needed them the most.

Eventually only a few scattered Obsidians remained that could use Geokinesis. They were all given to Blue Diamond and joined her court since they could help colonize way faster than injectors could. There they went from planet to planet, opening the ground with their abilities and allowing Homeworld to plant more gems. However, once the rebellion started, the Obsidian's were one of the main targets of a few attacks. After all, wouldn't it be smart to take down the gems that can manipulate the earth?

Thankfully Sid survived the raid that took out the rest of the remaining Obsidians. Back up had arrived just in time to stop the rebellion from shattering his gem. After that he was transferred to Yellow Diamond's facet where he was supposed to take part in conquering other planets, but Sid grew tired of the fighting and the destruction. So he stopped attacking altogether. He was considered useless a little while after transferring because he would do NOTHING. Only evade attack and defend himself, never attack someone else. If given the chance, he would run from battle. Eventually he was forgotten on Earth after the war and continues to live there :>
