My Faves are other then Yu-Gi-oh are Inuyasha(for a cartoon he is cute heh) Naruto, Adventures of the little prince,Sailor moon, Ninja Scroll(movie too)and then old school for me is Voltron and G-Force a.k.a Gatchaman.
Movies: I love spirited away!!, Howl's moving Castle,& Princess Mononoke.
As for games, I play MMO's, so if you want to count Lineage 2. which is very much Anime style that is the one that I played.

You should read Death Note, It's brilliant.
Neon Genesis Evangelion is an awesome anime as well as a manga.
Trinity Blood is good too. 
And read Yu-Gi-Oh too!
If you like shojo I would suggest you Full Moon wo Shagashite to read and all other Arina Tanemura's mangas.
D.Gray-man is pretty good too.
Bakuman is such a cool manga, but there has only came out 5 chapters of it.
And oh yeah, One Piece!
Azumanga Daoih! is the best ever, and Gintama is super too.
And um, you should read Full Metal Alchemist too.

Well, I don't really know about the anime, haven't watched it(expect for Abridget series lol) but the manga has pretty much blood in it so I guess it's more graphic.
