"ARGHHHH!! MY ANATOMY F**KING SUX!!!!"Layton: :-D............. This reminds me of a puzzle!
A sketch i did of prof layton during art history and storytelling class 8I...
I took some pix as reference and edited a bit more after i got home cause the anatomy was too effed up.. ><" ARGH I SUCK SO MUCH.
Thanks so much for helping me with the anatomy~~ ;3;!! and for pointing out his abnormally long legs and for giving me a proper visual of the hips~
Im the kinda person that needs a slap across the face to realize sumfin.. and today, my friends helped me realize that my character's legs r TOO BLOODY LONG. God.. theyre fricken MONSTERS!! I like exaggeration but sometimes, i go waaaay too far.. i will look out for that in future drawings oAo"
PS: I wanna cg and edit this more wen i have time (which will not be now T_T").. the world lacks Prof Layton fan art~~ ;3;

your doing a really good job on the picture though......just don't spend too much time worrying over it because you'll just get more frustrated.....which is what usually happens to me lol

he looks a lot better now!
the proportions of his legs are still off a bit, and the way the folds of his pants wrap around his left knee is very awkward lookin'.
but all in all it is a much better image!

all great artists need to start somewhere. i'm glad i could be of help.
foreshortening will do the trick.
for the pants, wouldn't it be easier to use yourself as a reference? fabric is tricky. you need to understand the form underneath and then figure out where folds bunch up and the fabric flattens and stretches. next time i see you, i'll try to explain how to fix it. if i write here... it may be a long message.
in case you have none.
for your particular anatomy needs, i'd recommend the loomis figure drawing book. if you can't find it, ask me about it at school. loomis is more about constructing the figure and correct proportions and perspective, it'll give you the foundations.
for more specific anatomy reference, i'd recommend stephen peck's atlas of human anatomy for the artist.

the first one is tricky because it's out of print. there used to be a free pdf version of the book floating around on the internet. your link has that book, too bad the download isn't working.
