First of all: this is a beautiful paintig! I especially enjoy the movement and the pose in combination with the technique you used.
But letΒ΄s do this step by step:
vision:
5 stars. The lightning effect on the feathers, epecially the rim light and the reflections on the wings are well done! The depth you create by blurring the background makes the picture even more interesting. All of this+ the pose illustrate your subject beautifully!
originality:
Why "only" 4 stars. Well, itΒ΄s still basically a portrait, of a unusual subject ofcourse, but still. I subtracted one star because there are more creative concepts.
Technique:
Technique is brilliantly done and so realistic! All the details on the feathers and especially the lightning and colouring on the the beak and the head is impressive! Nothing else I can give...
Impact:
Especially by adding the tutorial you totally want me to do two things: 1. Get home and start painting. 2. Get out and look for a kingfisher (not that IΒ΄d find one...)
