Quick doodle in SAI.I am still sad at the finale for BBC's Merlin... It was so sad ;_; It was very well done though - definitely the best episode of the series, in my opinion.
Merlin killing You Know Who (don't want to spoil it) was so bad-ass. Merlin, your BAMF is showing!
I just wanted more time... T_T
The lyrics are from Coldplay's "Till Kingdom Come", a very appropriate song for the finale and the legend.

Beautiful painting! It definitely catches that bitter-sweet feeling that comes at the end of the Finale. Merlin is totally BAMF in the last episode, but it was over far too quickly. It needed about twice as long, I think.

(cries forever) BTW When is ARthur supposed to come back?! I mean its already modern times in those last couple seconds of the show, so by the time Arthur decides to show up.....there wont be alot he can do since he'll first have to relearn modern technology, politics, and so on and so forth.

Exactly my thoughts - there was this one fanfiction I read (and I don't remember the name of it sorry) that had a really unique concept, in which Arthur would return multiple times, each time his role changing to whatever he needed to be. He would act as a physician or a soldier, or whatever. So with that headcanon, Merlin's just at the nth round of waiting. But that's probably not the case in the canon, so yeah you're thoughts are the same as mine... there have been many conflicts involving Europe since medieval times, so if Arthur wasn't needed then, he definitely wouldn't be needed in modern times... and if was, he would have a VERY steep learning curve.

Just found out, Bradley James said he had no plans of playing Arthur anymore. Meaning they'll scrap the character in the next story somehow ooorr they get a new Arthur which honestly would not be very smart. Bradley James and Collin Morgan just had this chemistry, and it wouldnt feel the same. I probably wouldnt watch it more than once if they got a new Arthur.
Though maybe they'll make it modern day with a reincarnation of Arthur. So that way it would feel more natural if he looks a little different

BBC's Merlin is finished though.. so Bradley's off the hook anyways. A modern day continuation would be great (and the fandom seems to already be making good progress on that front via GIFs and video manips etc), but I think where they ended it is awesome.

Wow, I still haven't started watching Merlin, but Tumblr always spoils everything for me anyway. But despite never having seen the show properly, let alone the last episode, I have a lot of feels, and wow, this is amazing.

Yeah, I pretty much watch Doctor Who and Supernatural via Tumblr. The GIF sets of Merlin do some of the moments justice, but there's always Youtube for the clips.. the moments between Arthur and Merlin make the show worth it, and their relationship is the focus of the final episode. It's done extremely well, which is why it's such a powerfully sad ending, and results in so many feels. Seriously, ALL the feels. Thanks for the comment
