I once overheard my wife talking on the phone, she thought I couldn't hear her, and she said, "Good question, marriage is like getting to have a sleepover with your best friend every night, and the sleepover never really ends."

I couldn't agree with her more. Marriage seems so "ordinary" to those who don't experience it, but for those of us who are doing it and trying to do it right, it's an adventure.

This morning I was listening to the song Fast Car by Tracey Chapman, whenever I hear that song I remember one of my first dates with Sheryle, and while we were driving home we were on a country road and for a small stretch of empty road she tested to see just how fast she could get the car from 0-60 (and maybe just a little more). It was in that moment that I knew for sure, "whatever else happens, I'm going to marry this woman, because there's no one else I want to spend the rest of my life with."

Christian marriage is an extraordinary quest that will take you places you cannot imagine, change you forever, and if you allow it, Christian marriage will make you a better person, the person God calls you to be, filling the role He calls you to fill.
