Description
“Giant Robot, hear and obey - into the air and up and away!”
ジャイアントロボ
The original 1967 Giant Robo is ridiculous, the weird dub doubly so, and I love every minute of it.

Be careful with color value. The helmet strap/hood is almost the same color as his hair, and it blends together. It also makes the kid look like he has a beard because of this.
He needs an indication of having a right arm...(unless of course he doesn't have one). It's odd that his left arm is held up, almost as if something should be interacting with it, or he should be looking at it. As is, it just seems weird. He looks like he's just spacing out and holding his arm up stiffly, because there's no indication of action or movement.
The stylization and coloring are great! Don't be afraid to push your shadows and highlights even further!

Johnny Sokko needed a little appreciation, I'd figured!

Johnny Sokko!
Also seeing as you are a fellow Minnesotan....You watch this on mornings Via COMET on WUCW?

I do! My dad and I came across it on accident a few months ago after an MST3K episode, and we’ve been charmed and loyal viewers ever since!

Funny how WUCW was also the birthplace to MST3K way back when it was KTMA. Lol
A lot of people have been clamoring for the Johnny Sokko and his Flying Robot compilation film "Voyage into Space" to be featured on MST3K Season 12 after a bunch of people saw Voyage into Space air after MST3K and Johnny Sokko some nights.
Though me and a few others prior to that have yearned for it to happen.
Funny how I got into the show when I was 6 years old all the way back in 2005 (yes I am that young, good G-d) and was into all this kaiju. There was a video rental store in my then hometown of Eden Prairie (Man I need multiple MSTie awards for not only growing up in the town where the show was made but also knowing where Best Brains HQ used to be at AND knowing all the outdoor filming location used in Season 8)
Where we were browsing through the store near the end of its lifetime (the nearby Blockbuster overtook it in popularity. Ironically that too is long gone in Eden Prairie) and my Dad and I found a VHS tape of Johnny Sokko and his Flying Robot containing the first 2 episodes while looking for Godzilla VHS tapes to watch. I wanted the VHS because of the robot on the cover and we took it home. I was a Power Rangers kid at the time but after watching Johnny Sokko that day I was immediately off Power Rangera until the RPM series came along.
Shame I never got the VHS when the store closed down
