Description
‘What are we going to do now?’‘Try and get some sleep.’
‘You don’t need sleep. I don’t need sleep. Evil never sleeps, and Virtue is ever vigilant.’
‘Evil in general, maybe. This specific part of it has got into the habit of getting its head down occasionally.’ He stared into the headlights. The time would come soon enough when sleep would be right out of the question. When those Below found out that he, personally, had lost the Antichrist, they’d probably dig out all those reports he’d done on the Spanish Inquisition and try them out on him, one at a time and then all together.
He rummaged in the glove compartment, fumbled a tape at random, and slotted it into the player. A little music would…
…Bee-elzebub has a devil put aside for me, for me…
‘For me,’ murmured Crowley. His expression went blank for a moment. Then he gave a strangled scream and wrenched at the on-off knob.
Heh, sorry, I know it's silly, I just saw it so clearly in my head xD It made me think of how Johnny Depp was once upon a time cast to play Crowley.. and how perfectly “Jack Sparrow” that moment would have been. I hear Terry Gilliam was set to direct, and that he still intends to once he gets the funds together.. Please wait for me, Terry my love, I want to help, I have such a vision
A-hem. I suppose this quote would also be helpful for those who haven’t read the book:
Crowley was currently doing 110mph somewhere east of Slough. Nothing about him looked particularly demonic, at least by classical standards. No horns, no wings. Admittedly he was listening to a Best of Queen tape, but no conclusions should be drawn from this because all tapes left in a car for more than about a fortnight metamorphose into Best of Queen albums.
I like to amuse myself imaging Terry Pratchett and Neil Giaman coming up with that in the wee hours of the morning... i.e.:
'And—and he hisses, y’know, ’cause he was a snake and all–'
'Sure, great, he needs to drive a Bentley. A great big classic black one. The fuel-guzzling kind– only he doesn’t need fuel, ’cause he’s damned.'
'Brilliantbrilliant– he should listen to Queen.'
'Why?'
'Dunno, but he should.'
'No, no, I agree, I—... Every tape he leaves in his car should turn into Queen.'
'You’re a genius.'
'I know you are but what am I?'
'Hur-hurr
Disclaimer: I do not own Terry Pratchett and Neil Giaman, but I sure wouldn’t mind borrowing their imaginations for a day... neither do I own their Good Omens, and it is true indeed that no omens are good-er
p.s. Crowley isn’t wearing a seatbelt because he’s evil. Clearly.
p.p.s. I realise Aziraphale should, in fact, have a blue stain on his ribs from being shot by a Mr Tompkins... but I thought this would incur too many of the same question xD

I LOVE Good Omens. Aziraphale and Crowley have the best chemistry ever. I especially love this scene for the way Crowley is humanized with his freak-out moment xD

Crowley's expressions here are fantastic! And I secretly love Aziraphale's complete lack of concern over Crowley's obvious distress.
Lol, I'm willing to bet Terry and Neil had a conversation very much along those lines at one point, hahaha.

Your Pratchett Gaiman exchange is amusingly reminiscent of the drunken (and oh so here paraphrased) conversation "The point is, the POINT is, is,. . . .dolphins. Big brains. The ocean's just fulla brains!"

this is so wonderful! You've captured their personalities perfectly, so much so that I've overused the word I LOVE YOUR CROWLEY. All his expressions are priceless and I've re-read this 5 times and I think I'll go do it again, did I mention this is great?

I cannot possibly express the ABSOLUTE LOVE and COMPLETE ADORATION I have for Aziraphale's expression in the last panel. Somewhere between: "Poor dear." and "Oh goodness gracious, not ANOTHER one."
((STILL trying to find myself a copy of this book, and it is all your fault-- you amazing human being, you.))
