I know it's been a while since this was posted, but I do have a question, since I'm a little confused. The Weyrleader mentions that "Ista refused to help us," but aren't they in Ista Weyr? Perhaps I've missed something? Sorry to ask such a silly question, I just noticed and knew it was going to bug me until I ask. Heh heh. Thanks for your time.

hmmmm oh! maybe k'mlar could see some people going out of the kitchen caverns (or something like that) and their wearing masks/scarfs. k'mlar askes them why there wearing masks and they say that it hepls to filter the stink of numbweed, and k'mlar being such a talented tailor gets some ideas....
or the healer could remember that the people who boil numbweed (or coal miners) wear masks over their noses/mouths to filter out the smell.
