Description
I was playing with my little brother yesterday, and his paint set, and I drew this. He drew a manatee. It's done in whatever paints he had-I think they were acrylic?
It was kinda weird though, cause there were only a couple colors-black, white, blue, yellow, and brown. No red? I thought that was odd. Red is a primary color; why wouldn't there be red in a paint set for kids? Kids like red, I swear.

What do you mean it looks funny? That there's something wrong with the painting, or that it's bizarre? If you think it's weird, it's supposed to be a little sci-fi esque, but like a kids story of alien abduction.

Thank you. I like paints, but I don't really know how to use them either. I just like the fact that I can get the paint all over my jeans.

I think its really good practice to limit your colors. I spent an entire year just working in black and white and you'd be suprised at just how much you can do when you limit yourself. In fact ,a million and one colors can be very overwhelming when you actually stop and think about it.
Picasso worked in only blue tones for a really long time, and he felt it helped him expand on his work and focus on the content more because of it.
I think you've accomplished something really unique here. When i look at it, i feel as though the gril is longing to be taken away, as if she's lost out of place and just wants to go home.
While the top left corner with the planet could be done a little bit better, you did an amazing job on the textures and colors present in the foreground and on the girl herself.
all in all, it's a good concept, a nice exactuion and a fine piece of art. Keep going, never stop.
and say hello to texas for me while you're at it, i miss my home sometimes.

Thanks for the great comment.
That's a good point about limiting colors. I'll admit, I probably over-use color as a crutch. Maybe I'll try only drawing in greens or something for a while and try to improve my art. That sounds like an excellent suggestion.
Yeah, I know what you mean about the planet. Next time I try to draw a planets, stars, etc., I'll get a reference. Thanks for pointing it out.
Texas says 'hi' back! (It's already hot enough to make it uncomfortable outside).
