Description
A gift for ~felypsa of her character, Amnesia. Amnesia is a vile, despicable, evil thing. This image is symbolic. She is seen lying on a branch, and though she is blind and unable to see it, can sense growth at the end of the dead branch and knows that flowers have grown on them. She finds herself in a moment of weakness as she contemplates what beauty is like, and ruefully wonders if she is beautiful.Critiques are most welcome.

Im an aspiring Pixel Artist and your work is...just..astounding. Its both inspiring and extremely daunting. It makes me look at pixels in such a different way. But it also makes me realize how much I stinnkk...
And this piece especially. Those wings are so full of life. The look soft and look like actual feathers. That silky, wispy feel you get when you brush across a feather you find on the street. You're texture on the wood is outstanding. This is definitely one piece I am downloading to study much more closely. Maybe it will give an idea on shading and outline basics.
How do you begin such a project? Is it 100% scratch is MSpaint? Or do you sketch the basic concept on paper and scan it in, and go from there?

It's really hard to teach someone else about pixel-art. I'm self-taught, but I have read a few tutorials in the past. My advice is... read some tutorials. What I did to make this all started on MS Paint with a mouse. I use the Line tool and Magnifier tool a lot. With the Line tool, I have more control. I never sketch them before putting them on MS Paint, but some people do. I think if you're just starting out, draw a sphere.

Ah! I see! Your wolves were so lifelike that I had a feeling you sketched before pixelling. Guess I was wrong! haha. For what little I can do *points to gallery* I too am self taught.

It's pretty obvious when you zoom in that you used blending tools which is a big no-no in pixel art.

It's just that it's an accepted standard that pixel art is made pixel by pixel, and each color is painstakingly thought out so that the overall palette of the piece is limited.
