I’ve been loosely sketching at the size of 3 x 3 inches...Some I’ll take to more finished drawings.
Signor Ugarte, Guillermo Ugarte in the original play, created by Murray Burnett and Joan Alison in 1940 in the play Everybody Comes to Rick’s.

YES! YES! WIN! OH GOD........I love your blockish, comicy style. But more important, it's a Peter Lorre caricature that REALLY looks like Peter! Too many people go for the watered-down Looney Tunes stereotype of him. Yours however is dead on.

Thanks Lizzy...usually when trying to capture a 'likeness' I do three turns; the first is more realistic (or sometimes it's just from memory, which then is the opposite of a likeness, but the feel is pretty good)...this was the second version, I was a afraid, like you point out, the third would then be playing too much with the eccentrics of his looks.
Which, while unique, are pretty damn suave in Casablanca...

Reminds me of the old Warner cartoons from the 30's and 40's where they'd fill the background crowds with caricatures of the big stars of the day. Knew who he was the moment I saw the thumbnail. Good job.
