Today I heard a song called Tower of Ashes, the song really made me think. Sometimes I'm tempted to feel discouraged because Freed Indeed isn't as successful as I'd like it to be, and as a result, my wife and I aren't generally in a very financially desirable place. However, this song helped me ponder that from a different perspective, namely, what if God granted me everything I want from Freed Indeed? Would I do good with that, or would I be corrupted by it? Also, even if I wouldn't be corrupted, how many of the saints chose poverty? Do I really believe I'm better than them?

The point? In all of our lives we feel these discouragements. In all of our lives we are faced with situations and realities that aren't how we want them to be. But in all of that, God is present.

If there were no temptations we could not be saved. So, when it feels like your prayers aren't being answered, and you've prayed the same thing 100 times and it seems like you're seeing nothing happen, don't lose heart. It doesn't mean that God doesn't care, it may mean that the answer is no, or it may mean that God loves you too much to give you lesser things when He's doing something better in you. Sadly, you may not get to see that better thing on this side of glory. Don't be anxious, what God is doing is His business, just keep following and trusting that He's got it all worked out.
